The Marcus Whitman Hotel is a modern, viable hotel and mixed-use building that retains the charm and cache of an elegant historic hotel. But that wasn't always the case. In the 1980's the hotel had been converted into condominiums and apartments that provided cheap housing for a variety of lower income residents. It wasn't until 1999 when a Walla Walla local purchased it and restored it to it's current glory.
This building is the tallest landmark in the City of Walla Walla
